Birmingham International Airport (BHX) has two terminals. The terminals are adjacent and connected with walkways. Both sets of check-in desks are only a couple of minutes' walking distance from each other.

Terminal 1 is primarily used for international long-haul flights. You have to check-in on the upper level, or greet arriving passengers downstairs.

Shopping:

the airport has a retail range of 23 different stores including duty-free outlets. There are regular outlets like WH Smith, Boots and Tie Rack as well as plenty of unique souvenir stores. You'll have no trouble passing the time or picking up a gift for your friends at home while spending time in the terminals.

Eating:

Starbucks, Burger King, Costa Coffee and D'Lish as well as everything in between are included in the airport's dozens of food and beverage outlets. Grab an early morning coffee at Bar 08 (it opens at 04:00) or an evening cocktail before it closes at 22:00.

Business:

Some airlines offer business lounge facilities for their passengers in Terminal 1 and Flybe operates its passenger business lounge in Terminal 2.

Hotels:

three hotels serve the airport and all operate 24 hours.

For Etap Hotel, exit the M42 at Junction 6 (A45) and follow the signs for the airport. Follow directional signage all the way into the airport, bearing right at rapid drop off. Then turn left into Ambassador Road and the hotel is located opposite NCP car park number 2.

For the Ibis Hotel, exit the M42 at junction 6 (A45). Follow the signs for the airport. Follow the road all the way into the airport, bearing right at rapid drop off. Then turn left into Ambassador Road.

The Novotel is not accessible by road but is within walking distance of the long-stay car parks.
